Senior Product Designer of New Things

We are looking for a Senior Product Designer with service designer experience who wants to make an impact in the digital software world.

As a consultant in New Things, you will be helping clients build their digital products from the ground up and be at the core of their business. We need you to be a person who gets excited about problem-solving in the digital space and a self-starter, who wants to be a part of building new things. Any interest in building a fresh new consultancy is highly appreciated, as our company is built by its employees to look like home to us.

Who are New Things and what can we offer you?

New Things Company is a part of two bigger ecosystems of Reaktor Fusion and the Witted Megacorp. We have the agility and community of a small consultancy but all the support and upsides of a bigger group. Our projects are often the most interesting, but also the most challenging.

We offer a work environment where we have self-organized teams and no hierarchy. Our consultants have the final say in the projects and sales. This means there will be minimal instruction, maximal trust, and freedom in your work that allows you to follow your ambitions and make an actual impact. You will also have a strong say in the company improvement projects and internal policies. Being an active member of our community is encouraged but not required. You can participate as much or as little as you feel comfortable.

Benefits

Our salary model is based on a fixed monthly salary that allows you to spend some of your time developing yourself and our company without it affecting your income level. Our salary range is 4000-6000 € / month, in addition to which we offer a quarterly bonus based on the company's results and a comprehensive benefits package.

What you need to be happy and succeed in New Things projects:

• Solid UX and service design experience in digital software and services.

  1. Experience in facilitating workshops, user research, and usability studies.

  2. Clarify client and user needs and translate them into user journeys, concepts, and prototypes.

  3. Create easy-to-use and aesthetically-pleasant user interfaces. 

• Efficient communication skills. The ability to verbalize complex and abstract things clearly is considered a great advantage. Fluent English and Finnish are important for this position. If you are fluent in Swedish too we consider you a polyglot superstar.

• Experience in the appropriate tools e.g. Miro and Figma.

• The ability to approach challenges and people with curiosity and empathy.

• Self-organization skills and a history of initiative-taking.

• Necessary permits to work in Finland and preferably live in the Helsinki area.

The Process:

1. Intro meeting, meet your future colleagues! You will meet people from our recruitment team/consultants.

2. Second meeting. You will meet with designers for a longer, in-depth meeting where the discussion topics are in the content of the work.
